BERWA KINUNU Youth Center Launches 'Elite Youth during the Holidays Program with Emphasis on Good Choices and Health
On August 3, 2024, the BERWA KINUNU Youth Center in Rutsiro District unveiled its "GAHUNDA Y’INTORE MU BIRUHUKO" (Elite Youth during the Holidays Program), themed "AMAHITAMO MEZA, UBUZIMA BWIZA" (Good Choices, Good Life). The launch, led by Solange TETERO, General Director of MINYOUTH, and attended by key figures including Mayor Dative KAYITESI and Vice Mayor Chantal Umuganwa, featured sports activities and emotional wellness exercises. Josee from SONYA SEQUENCE facilitated the emotional support sessions, while health screenings for chronic conditions were also provided. Speakers highlighted the importance of utilizing the center's resources and expressed gratitude to contributors like the Nyundo Diocese. MINYOUTH pledged to support the center further by advocating for a new computer and internet lab, encouraging youth to engage in weekly activities including English clubs and sports.
